3 Spring Cleaning Tips For Your Mind, Body & Spirit

Spring has sprung and it’s a great time to do some spring cleaning. Cleaning your home or office is one thing but in order to be stronger, smarter, and more successful we must not forget to clean up the dust and junk inside our mind, body and spirit.

Our mind, body and spirit is like a house. If we allow it to fill up with junk, garbage, cobwebs, and dust we find ourselves living in a pretty yucky place. (yes, I used the word yucky)

Just like your home, you need to take time to clean out the “head junk” to make room for your dreams and goals. This work may be slightly harder than picking up a vacuum and duster but it will reap way more benefits in the long run.

Below I laid out three things you can do right now to clean up the foundation of where your dreams are manifested.

 

MIND

Commit to giving up one bad habit. 

We all have them. We all know they are bad, but why do we continue to do them? I believe it’s because we don’t really know how to change them or we feel overwhelmed we have too many habits that need to be changed. So this is what I want you to do. Commit yourself to changing ONE bad habit, starting today. Just one. Begin with something small which will build up your confidence to tackle the bigger bad habits later on. You can do it! An easy way to begin is by replacing your bad habit with a good one.

For example, you want to stop eating junk food at night but it’s difficult because you always get hungry around 10pm. Go to the grocery store today and fill up your fridge with healthy food you can snack on so when 10:00 comes around and you just can’t not eat, you have healthier food to replace the junk food. This is a step in the right direction!

 

BODY

Take time for self-care. 

Self-care is so important yet we tend to put out “to-do” list before it. As a way to spring clean your body, put on your to-do list a time to take care of you. You have to put it on your to-do list because this will help you stick to it! Writing it down on paper makes it more permanent and that much more rewarding when you cross it off!

Self-care can include cooking a healthy meal for yourself and eating it away from any technology devices or putting time aside for a nice hot bath. I promise your body will thank you for the little time you take to care for it. Work to put “self-care” on your to-do list at least 3 times a week. I like to take time for me once a day but if you can’t make that happen yet, setting a goal for 3 times per week is a great start. Remember, small baby steps is the way to bigger transformation!

Take care of your body, it’s the only place you have to live.

 

SPIRIT

Pick up a passion project.

Creativity produces incredible transformation for your spirit. This spring, take up a new passion project. Choose something that makes your spirit feel ignited! Do you love drawing or painting? Or how about gardening or volunteering at a dog’s shelter? Making a commitment to a new project that you’re passionate about helps heal the spirit and clean out any negativity. Passion projects are also a fantastic way to relieve stress. So get out there, get creative, and let your spirit guide you!
